Kimberly Swinney (she/her) serves as the Director of Student Life & Development for Inver Hills and ¶¶Òõpro. She joined Inver Hills in the spring of 2022 and expanded her role to include ¶¶Òõpro in 2025.
In her position, Kimberly provides leadership for co-curricular areas including Student Life, Health Services, Civic Engagement, and Career Development. Her goal is to ensure students discover community, connection, and learning through programs, events, and opportunities offered. She also serves as a co-advisor to Student Senate, the Student Budget Committee, and the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Additionally, she chairs the Co-Curricular Assessment Committee, co-chairs the Commencement Committee, and is a member of the CARE Committee. Kimberly is passionate about building relationships with students and assisting them as they explore their passions, interests, and career opportunities.
Kimberly earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2014, where she discovered her passion for student affairs. She completed her graduate studies in the Leadership in Student Affairs program at the University of St. Thomas in 2016. She is an active member of the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) as the Membership Experience Manager for Region V.
She lives in Lakeville, Minnesota, with her spouse, Adam, their daughter, Eleanor, and their Black Lab/Boxer mix, Surly. In her free time, Kimberly enjoys going to the cabin, exploring new restaurants, traveling, and skiing.
